Young Promoters Course

Led by industry professional Jordan McGuire, with 15 years of experience in the live music industry, this course provides young people aged 16-25 based in South West Wales with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed as music promoters. The course will last over 8 weeks with weekly sessions, and will end with a real gig promoted by participants. Sign up here.

Gig Photography Course

This programme offers young people aged 16-25 in South West Wales the chance to develop their skills as gig photographers. Led by Welsh gig-photographer Stay.Focused, participants will gain hands-on experience, learning to capture the energy of live events while building their creative and technical abilities. Introduction to Stage Lighting

This programme offers an exciting opportunity for young people aged 16-25 based in South West Wales to gain invaluable hands-on experience in stage lighting for live events. Designed as an introduction to the field, participants will learn the essential techniques and knowledge required to work with lighting systems, from setup and operation to creating captivating visual effects that enhance live performances. What is the Project?

We're boosting your music scene by offering hands-on training for individuals in Music Promotion, Sound & Lighting, Gig Photography, and more. The project also supports artists with Regional Tours, Recording Sessions, and Promotional Opportunities. The project is open to all individuals aged 16-25 based in the Swansea Bay City region (Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire).

We believe everyone should have the chance to pursue their passion for music. Our goal is to create a more inclusive, vibrant, and sustainable music scene, while empowering the next generation of music leaders.

 

Who's Behind It?

Led by The Bunkhouse Music Venue, Wales' first community-owned music venue, alongside music professionals passionate about supporting local talent and creating a thriving music industry in Swansea and South West Wales. This initiative is proudly funded by Creative Wales, who are dedicated to supporting the development of the creative industries across Wales. Together, we bring a wealth of experience, local knowledge, and a shared vision for empowering the next generation of music leaders and growing the music scene in the region.

 

When is it Happening?

The project kicks off in December 2024 and runs through Spring/Summer 2025. Expect training programs, tours, recording sessions, and more.
